Bankruptcy Mediation

Bankruptcy is a difficult time for all parties. It may involve companies, institutions, ongoing relationships, individuals, creditors, vendors, the IRS and even families and friends.

Often times the primary interest of all bankrupts is for faster and earlier discharges from their bankruptcies and for creditors, the early settlement and repayment of their debts and a plan of action to accomplish these goals. Many times education and understanding is a critical component that enhances the outcome of the process for all parties that our mediation services can provide.

Recognizing that mediation has always played a central role in our administration of debt settlement proposals, ALTERNATIVE LAW provides a wide range of mediation services to bankrupts and their creditors through our Mediation Unit.

THE BANKRUPTCY MEDIATION UNIT

The unit has been set up to help resolve disputes between bankrupts and their creditors as quickly and as efficiently soon as possible. While often, this is done soon after the Bankruptcy Order has been made, we try to encourage mediation prior to the actual order to prepare and educate all parties for this process.

The unit maintains a panel of mediators who will assist the parties to reach mutually acceptable resolutions of their disputes through the use of mediation.

Through the unit's assistance, both bankrupts and creditors will be better served as bankrupts will be discharged from their bankruptcies faster and creditors will receive their payments earlier and most importantly develop a plan for your future.

HOW WE CAN HELP YOU

The unit provides mediation services to:

Resolve the amount of debt owed by the bankrupts to their creditors.

Negotiate on debt settlement proposals between the bankrupts and their creditors.

Determine a plan to address and resolve differences between business corporations, business associates, and family members.
